A Breckenridge Remodel + Addition That Redefined Mountain Luxury

Welcome to Project Timber Hill! This was not just a remodel. It was a full transformation. An outdated Breckenridge home became a refined mountain retreat layered with natural light, rich wood tones, rugged textures, and a perfectly balanced mix of metals. The result feels elevated yet grounded. Luxurious yet warm. Dramatic yet livable.
And we are incredibly proud of it!
Let’s walk through what makes this home unforgettable.

Layered Lighting That Changes Everything
Lighting is one of the most underestimated elements in a renovation. It is also one of the most powerful.
At Timber Hill, we designed lighting in layers:
Ambient lighting to fill the space
Task lighting where function matters
Accent lighting to highlight architectural features
Layered lighting allows a home to shift with the day. Morning coffee feels bright and energizing. Evenings feel intimate and moody. In mountain homes especially, where winter days are shorter, thoughtful lighting is not a luxury. It is essential.

The Live Edge Island That Steals the Show
Let’s talk about the island. A massive, thick live edge countertop anchors the kitchen. We used epoxy but intentionally preserved many of the knots and natural imperfections in the wood. Those details bring such character! It feels like it belongs in the mountains while still holding its own against top-of-the-line appliances and custom cabinetry.

The 7 Foot Overhang and the Joy of Structural Steel
One of the boldest moves in this project is the 7 foot overhang at the entrance of the home. What makes it even more impressive is that it sits above a wall of windows.
How is that possible?
Structural steel.
Engineering those beams into a residential remodel was both a challenge and a thrill. It is not every day we get to incorporate structural steel in this way. But in the mountains, snow loads are serious, and performance matters just as much as beauty.
The covered deck also utilizes structural steel for that same reason. Breckenridge winters are no joke. We built it to last a lifetime.

A Natural Stone Wall That Grounds the Space
The natural stone wall is breathtaking. It anchors the space and brings texture and authenticity to the interior. Against deep, dark woods and lighter accents, it creates a visual rhythm that feels intentional and timeless.

Smart Design That Saved Without Sacrificing
Here is something we love about this project. Many of the windows were relatively new. Instead of replacing them, we repurposed and relocated them to maximize natural light while minimizing cost.
We shifted openings, rebalanced elevations, and reimagined placement. The result feels brand new without unnecessary waste.
Thoughtful design is not about spending more. It is about spending wisely.

The Chandelier Moment
Can we talk about this chandelier?
WOW.
It commands the space without overwhelming it. Suspended against knotty alder ceilings and framed by natural textures, it creates that instant gasp moment when you walk in.

A Secret Space Just for the Kids
We tucked a hidden kids’ space into the attic. A little world of their own!
The Details That Pull It All Together
Timber Hill is layered with thoughtful finishes:
Deep, dark wood tones balanced with light accents
A stunning knotty alder ceiling with dark wood beams
A moody black bar just ten feet from the primary suite
Mixed metals that feel curated, not chaotic
Top-of-the-line kitchen appliances
Thoughtful texture everywhere you look
The entire home feels cohesive, warm & elevated.
This is what happens when structure, engineering, aesthetics, and intention all align.
