From the deep green library to the light-filled primary bathroom and richly layered bedroom, there is a strong sense of personality throughout. Rather than relying on one design style, the home brings together color, natural wood, warm metals, pattern, and traditional details in a way that feels collected instead of overly coordinated.
A Library That Isn't Afraid of Color
The home office immediately stands out with its floor-to-ceiling built-ins painted a deep, saturated green. Carrying the color across the cabinetry, walls, trim, and ceiling creates an immersive feeling that makes the room feel intentional and established.
Brass picture lights add warmth, while the homeowners' collection of books gives the built-ins exactly what a home library should have: personality.
A Primary Bathroom Built Around Light
The primary bathroom takes a completely different approach.
Here, the palette becomes lighter and quieter with warm wood cabinetry, soft neutral tile, brass plumbing fixtures, and an abundance of natural light. The long vanity provides plenty of functional storage while still feeling more like furniture than standard bathroom cabinetry.
One of our favorite moments is the tub area. The soaking tub sits beneath a statement chandelier with filtered natural light coming through the window behind it. It turns something functional into a true focal point.
The oversized glass shower continues that feeling with multiple windows, a built-in bench, warm brass fixtures, and subtle tile that lets the architecture do the talking.
Details That Connect the Home
What makes these spaces work together isn't that they all look the same. They don't.
Instead, there are subtle threads running throughout the home: warm brass finishes, natural wood, traditional shapes, layered textiles, thoughtful lighting, and a willingness to use color and pattern.
Even the primary bedroom embraces that idea. The substantial four-poster bed, patterned drapery, layered rug, and classic lighting create a room that feels warm, established, and comfortable rather than overly staged.
Designing a Home Around the People Who Live There
This home is a good reminder that a successful renovation doesn't have to result in a perfectly neutral house.
